Sears Won’t Answer Policy Questions Because She Plans to Follow Trump’s Disastrous Economic Agenda
The Cardinal News spotlighted today how Winsome Sears is “simply silent” on policy issues, as it becomes clear that Sears doesn’t have any substantive plans of her own, and there’s one real reason why: she plans to bring Donald Trump’s job-killing and cost-raising agenda to Virginia.
Sears was asked directly four times if she could name a single issue she disagrees with Trump on in a recent interview and refused to give an answer. Sears has defended Trump’s deeply unpopular cuts to Virginians’ jobs and health care — even going to the White House to beg for his support — as Trump snubs her and still refuses to endorse her candidacy less than a month out from Election Day.
Sears will bring Trump’s disastrous economic agenda to Virginia:
- Sears has faced pressure for downplaying the impacts of Trump and DOGE’s attacks on Virginia’s workforce, mocked those who lost their jobs, and claimed that job cuts were not “real issues.”
- Sears said that Trump’s disastrous and deeply unpopular budget law “does so many great things” — even though it rips health care away from 350,000 Virginians, costs Virginia hospitals $26 billion, and closed three rural health care centers in the state.
- Sears praised Trump’s tariffs that jack up prices on everyday goods and services and hike taxes as “good” and to the “benefit” of Virginians — despite the fact that Trump’s tariffs have put hundreds of Virginians out of work.
