NBC: After Refusing to Stand Up for Virginia Jobs, Sears “Refuses to Cite Any Trump Policies She Disagrees With”
Winsome Sears was asked four times in another disastrous meltdown of an interview on NBC if she could name a single issue she disagrees with Donald Trump on, and refused to give an answer.
Adding to the personal humiliation for Sears as she continues to put Trump ahead of Virginians, the president still refuses to endorse her candidacy a month out from Election Day even though she went to the White House to beg for his support.
Meanwhile, Trump’s disastrous and deeply unpopular agenda continues to hurt Virginians by jacking up costs on housing and electricity, ripping health care away from thousands, closing rural health clinics, and gutting Virginia’s workforce. Sears also refused to tell Trump not to fire more Virginians under D.C. Republicans’ government shutdown.
“Winsome Sears just made it crystal clear that there is no daylight between her and Donald Trump’s disastrous agenda that is jacking up costs, ripping health care away from thousands, and gutting Virginia’s workforce,” said DGA Communications Director Sam Newton. “At every turn, Sears will always put loyalty to Trump’s partisan agenda first — even when it hurts Virginians.”
Sears is in lockstep with Trump’s disastrous agenda:
- Sears has faced pressure for downplaying the impacts of Trump and DOGE’s attacks on Virginia’s workforce, mocked those who lost their jobs, and claimed that job cuts were not “real issues.”
- Sears said that Trump’s disastrous and deeply unpopular budget law “does so many great things” — even though it rips health care away from 350,000 Virginians, costs Virginia hospitals $26 billion, and closed three rural health care centers in the state.
- Sears praised Trump’s tariffs that jack up prices on everyday goods and services and hike taxes as “good” and to the “benefit” of Virginians — despite the fact that Trump’s tariffs have put hundreds of Virginians out of work.
