Yikes: Forest Floundering As Cooper Breaks Fundraising Record

Latest News

Cooper has a 5:1 cash on hand advantage to Forest

Today, North Carolina Lt. Gov. Dan Forest reported his fundraising numbers today and…well, it’s a yikes from us. Forest reported raising $1.3 million this period and has $1 million cash on hand.
These numbers are light years apart from Gov. Roy Cooper, who announced raising $4.5 million in the first half of the year and has $5 million cash on hand. Cooper even broke his fundraising record for the comparable off-year of 2015.
No wonder Forest couldn’t scare off state Rep. Holly Grange from entering the race with these dismal numbers. Whatever money Forest does manage to raise will be used in a divisive and expensive primary fight.
“Dan Forest is so out-of-touch with North Carolina he could barely find any supporters to fund his floundering campaign,” said DGA Communications Director David Turner. “It’s clear whoever stands after this brutal primary fight will emerge with an empty bank account.”
