With Surge of September Donations, DGA Sets New Fundraising Records
DGA Sets New Records for Biggest Month, Quarter and Year in History
DGA Raised $22M in September, $37M in Q3
Today, the DGA announced it raised nearly $37 million across all entities in the third quarter of 2018, setting a new organization fundraising record for a quarter. The DGA has now raised just under $63 million for 2018 across all entities, already surpassing the total of $60 million raised for the entire year of 2014.
The record setting quarter was propelled by DGA’s largest month in history, with $22.2 million in September. The DGA’s previous record month was $13 million in September 2014.
The $36.8 million raised in Q3 represents an 83% increase over the DGA’s fundraising totals in the equivalent period of the 2013-2014 cycle.
The $103.9 million raised in the 2017-2018 cycle has been fueled by unprecedented interest in gubernatorial races. The DGA has raised more than $16 million in donations in the 2017-2018 cycle from donors who had never previously given to the organization.
“As we enter the homestretch, Democratic supporters are investing in governors races like never before,” said DGA Executive Director Elisabeth Pearson. “This September smashed fundraising records because Democrats everywhere see the opportunity to win. With this record-setting fundraising, the DGA is poised to capitalize on the enthusiasm for our strong, diverse slate of candidates who will stand up to chaos in D.C. and stop Republican gerrymandering in its tracks.”
