Winsome Earle-Sears Defends Donald Trump’s and Elon Musk’s Attacks on Virginia Workers

Sears claims Virginians will “be all right” amid gutting of the federal workforce

While Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s gutting of the federal workforce threatens jobs and livelihoods across the commonwealth, Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears has proudly come out in support of their attacks on Virginians.

Over the weekend, Sears spoke out in support of “the purge of federal workers currently taking place” in Washington DC, saying she was “glad that President Trump is getting to the bottom of all of this,” despite Virginia being home to over 144,000 federal workers who could be affected by Trump’s and Musk’s cuts, and that “Virginia will be all right.”

Sears’ support for gutting the federal workforce follows another recent defense of Trump’s attacks, when she claimed that “The president was elected fully explaining what he was going to do,” and that “he didn’t hide anything from anyone,” and just days after she went “full MAGA” embracing Trump’s extremism on a radio show with his former Virginia campaign chair.

“Winsome Earle-Sears had a chance to stand up against Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s attacks on workers, and instead she chose to support their threats to the jobs and livelihoods of families across Virginia,” said DGA National Press Secretary Devon Cruz. “Sears’ total failure to stand up for working families and her support for Donald Trump’s dangerous agenda is further proof that she is wrong for the commonwealth, and cannot be trusted to do what’s best for Virginians as governor.”
