What They Are Saying: Gov. Steve Sisolak’s JobFest “A Hit for Job Seekers”
Yesterday, Gov. Steve Sisolak’s Las Vegas JobFest drew 2,100 people, building on Nevada’s momentum as it leads the nation in hiring as the state recovers from the pandemic. The largest job fair in Nevada history connected Nevadans directly to jobs and to retraining programs to learn new skills.
“Today is a testament that we as a state are rebuilding and coming back stronger than ever — we have opportunities for Nevadans,” Gov. Sisolak said.
Here’s what people are saying about the wildly successful event:
- KSNV: “Sisolak’s Jobfest [is] a hit for job seekers.”
- FOX 5 Las Vegas: “About 2,100 of jobs seekers piled into the Las Vegas Convention Center on Tuesday for the largest job fair in Nevada history.”
- KTNV: “It’s a ‘one-stop shop’ for job seekers.”
- Las Vegas Review-Journal: “Sisolak made his way over to the MGM Resorts International area and met with people who had received job offers. He shook hands with and congratulated the prospective employees, while one woman with tears in her eyes jumped up from her seat to hug the governor.”
“Nevadans are moving forward thanks to Gov. Steve Sisolak’s leadership,” said DGA Senior Communications Advisor Christina Amestoy. “By putting on the biggest job fair in state history, Gov. Sisolak is creating new opportunities for Nevadans to take part in the state’s economic recovery.”
