Sears: Donald Trump’s budget bill “does so many great things”
After dodging questions about it for weeks, Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears is officially all-in on defending Donald Trump’s disastrous budget bill that will rip Medicaid and SNAP benefits away from Virginians while exploding the national deficit, saying that it “does so many great things.”
Trump’s Medicaid cuts that Sears is supporting will be devastating for Virginia, stripping health coverage away from nearly 323,000 Virginians, threatening rural hospitals, and killing jobs.

“Winsome Sears is now all-in on Donald Trump’s devastating and unpopular agenda to rip health care away from hundreds of thousands of Virginians, make it harder for working families to put food on the table, and explode the national deficit,” said DGA Communications Director Sam Newton. “It’s just the latest proof that Sears will always put her own partisan interests ahead of what’s right for Virginia.”
