Sherrill: “If [Jack’s] doing this to me, a sitting member of Congress and a veteran, imagine what he’ll do with your information”
Last night, Mikie Sherrill appeared on The Rachel Maddow Show to call out the Trump administration’s illegal release of her full, unredacted Navy personnel file — including her Social Security number, home address, and insurance records — at the request of Jack Ciattarelli’s campaign.
“There’s really no doubt in my mind that this was fully intentional from the Trump administration to the Ciattarelli campaign to attempt to do this, and they’ve continued now to go after my family, my husband’s service, my kids, in a completely inappropriate way. So, I just have to say to the New Jersey people, if he’s doing this to me, a sitting member of Congress and a veteran, imagine what he’ll do with your information.”
In addition to illegally making public unredacted personal identifying information such as Mikie’s Social Security number, insurance records, and home address and the address of her retired parents, the records reveal “an unblemished career in the Navy, including a 1991 medal for saving the life of a fellow classmate.”
