WATCH: DGA-Backed Group Launches TV Ad Exposing Tim Michels’ Backwards Plan for Wisconsin

Latest News

Alliance for Common Sense is launching a new TV ad criticizing Wisconsin GOP nominee for governor Tim Michels’ toxic, far-right vision for Wisconsin. The new 30-second ad, “Yours,” sets the record straight on Michels’ plan to move Wisconsin backward by defunding public schools and raising taxes, spreading endless election conspiracy theories that undermine our democracy, and opposing efforts to make it more difficult for domestic abusers to get guns.

Michels spent the entire GOP primary doubling down on toxic far-right policies. He spread the Big Lie that the 2020 election was stolen and said he’ll support Wisconsin’s archaic abortion ban that has no exceptions for rape or incest. The new ad holds Michels accountable for his dangerous and divisive agenda.

“Tim Michels’ far-right agenda would undo decades of progress in Wisconsin,” said Alliance for Common Sense Spokesperson Christina Amestoy. “His backwards plan for the state threatens working families’ public safety and their fundamental rights and freedoms. We’re committed to making sure Wisconsinites know just how dangerous Michels’ agenda really is.”

See below for a full transcript of the ad:

Narrator: In his Wisconsin, teens can buy AR-15s. But laws that stop domestic abusers from getting guns ‘won’t happen here.’ Our taxes could go up $500 million and we help fund Milwaukee schools while our public schools go broke.

Narrator: And fake election investigations…

Michels: Was the election rigged? Was the election stolen?

Narrator: …they go on forever. That’s Tim Michels’ radical, divisive agenda, but we don’t have to take it. Because it’s not his Wisconsin, it’s yours.
