Washington Post Investigation Highlights How Corrupt Kelly Craft Engaged in Pay-to-Play Diplomacy

A new Washington Post report exposed how potential Republican candidate for Kentucky governor Kelly Craft engaged in pay-to-play foreign policy while in office.

According to the report, emails released by the State Department indicate that Corrupt Craft used her position as an American diplomat to line the pockets of her political allies and put Americans at risk. A government corruption watchdog even said that Craft’s behavior “sends a signal that U.S. foreign policy is pay-to-play.”

The emails also show Craft sharing articles written about her ambassadorships that highlight her donation-fueled relationships with powerful Republicans.

In what’s sure to be a crowded Republican primary, Corrupt Craft is already proving she’ll continue the pay-to-play legacy of disgraced former governor Matt Bevin, who was notorious for giving his allies massive tax-payer funded salaries, used his office to get special deals for himself, and even handed out pardons to the highest bidder, regardless of the crime.

“This new report exposing billionaire Kelly Craft’s pay-to-play foreign policy shows she’d be just as corrupt as the self-dealing politicians like Matt Bevin that she’s spent years funding. If Craft is willing to sell out American values abroad, it’s clear she won’t hesitate to rip off workers and families across Kentucky,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Sam Newton. “Meanwhile, Gov. Beshear is keeping his promise to put politics aside to do right by Kentucky families, fighting to safely keep kids in school, creating new good-paying jobs in every corner of the Commonwealth, and leading by example.”
