Virginia Republicans Begin 2025 Cycle Divided, Worried About Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears

Donald Trump’s former VA Campaign Chair: “She isn’t going to win.”

Despite Jason Miyares’ decision to pass on running for the GOP nomination for governor, Virginia Republicans remain divided and are already publicly raising concerns about Lt. Governor Winsome Sears.

In an interview, Donald Trump’s former Virginia campaign chair John Fredericks described Youngkin’s endorsement of Sears as “odd” and said “Sears who…isn’t going to win…I’ll just say that straight out…she’s not..”

“Virginia Republicans are kicking off the 2025 election divided and already publicly calling out Winsome Sears,” said DGA National Press Secretary Devon Cruz. “This once again confirms that Sears will have to run even further to the right and take deeply harmful and out-of-touch positions to win the GOP nomination.”
