VIDEO: DGA Launches New Video Slamming Rebecca Kleefisch and Her Long Record of Failing Wisconsinites
After Rebecca Kleefisch declared her candidacy in the Wisconsin GOP gubernatorial primary, the DGA is launching a new video in Wisconsin, slamming Kleefisch for her record of failures and increasingly radical positions. Watch the new video here.
As Lieutenant Governor during the catastrophic Scott Walker administration, Kleefisch helped slash funding for education while negotiating a disastrous deal with a foreign company that cost taxpayers $4.5 billion. While creating a massive teacher shortage and shutting down the popular policies Wisconsin families need, she supported a lawsuit to kick millions off their health care and eliminate protections for those with pre-existing conditions.
And now Kleefisch is taking her positions even further to match the increasingly extreme Republican Party. As millions of Wisconsinites suffered through the COVID crisis, Kleefisch spread deadly conspiracy theories on social media and hosted indoor, maskless events.
“Rebecca Kleefisch has failed Wisconsinites before, and now she’s running on the same nonsense that voters rejected when they elected Democratic Gov. Tony Evers,” said DGA Senior Communications Advisor Christina Amestoy. “At every turn, Kleefisch has shut down progress and tried to drag Wisconsin back to the failed Walker administration. Kleefisch has become even more extreme since then, and Wisconsin deserves better.”
See below for the full transcript of the one-minute video:
Narrator: We know Rebecca Kleefisch all too well.
As Lieutenant Governor, she helped Scott Walker attack our kids’ education, our teachers, and our students.
Kleefisch: Our record does kind of speak for itself.
Narrator: While teachers and families suffered, Lieutenant Governor Kleefisch negotiated the infamous Foxconn deal that cost taxpayers billions while cutting taxes for the ultra-wealthy.
Now she’s taking her positions even further.
At the height of the pandemic, Kleefisch supported bogus COVID treatments and posted anti-vax lies on social media.
She even supported a lawsuit to kick millions off their health care and eliminate protections for those with pre-existing conditions.
Rebecca Kleefisch is too reckless and too radical to be governor. Wisconsin deserves better.
