Under Gov. Lamont, Connecticut Sees “Greatest Gas Price Drop in the Nation”
After Gov. Lamont signed legislation to give families relief at the gas pump, Connecticut is now seeing the “greatest gas price drop in the nation,” according to a report from the Stamford Daily Voice.
But Gov. Lamont isn’t the only Democratic governor taking action to lower prices. Democratic Govs. Whitmer, Polis, Evers, Wolf, Walz, and Lujan Grisham, all signed a letter urging federal lawmakers to suspend the federal gas tax. Meanwhile, California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Maine Gov. Janet Mills are proposing giving checks directly to drivers and taxpayers to offset rising costs.
“Connecticut families are seeing savings at the pump, thanks to Gov. Lamont’s decisive actions,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Sam Newton. “Throughout his time in office, Gov. Lamont has always committed to addressing the biggest challenges facing people in his state. His success in lowering prices is just another example of how he’s getting positive results on the issues that matter most.”
