Sununu Campaigns Alongside Extreme Legislator Exposed for Using Racial Slurs
“Sununu did not answer questions about whether Osborne should be re-elected or retain his position as majority leader”
Last week, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu stood alongside the state’s GOP House Majority Leader Jason Osborne at a fundraiser — immediately after Osborne was exposed for making a series of offensive comments, including using racial slurs targeting Black people.
In social media posts, Osborne also made comments about berating women, and essentially proposing “the market decide on an individual basis,” regarding sex trafficking and statutory rape laws.
Sununu refused to answer questions about whether Osborne should be re-elected or retain his position as majority leader.
Osborne has a history of making offensive comments, including saying Americans should “lay off the calories and grab a few more rounds for your AK-47,” on the 4th of July. Yet, that didn’t stop Sununu from attending the fundraiser alongside Osborne.
“Gov. Chris Sununu’s refusal to call for Jason Osborne to resign, and for campaigning alongside him, shows he cares more about cozying up to extreme MAGA Republicans than looking out for New Hampshire families,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Sam Newton. “Osborne is a perfect example of how the New Hampshire GOP has been taken over by radical and dangerous politicians — and every day Sununu stays silent, it’s clear he’s a part of the problem.”
