Stunning Losses In Tuesday’s Elections Spell Trouble For Chris Sununu

Tuesday’s election results in New Hampshire and across the country spell trouble for Gov. Chris Sununu.
Democrats won 76 percent of the races in New Hampshire in which they competed. After campaigning hard for Victoria Sullivan in Manchester, Sununu suffered an embarrassing defeat with a Democrat carrying Manchester by 14 points. Sununu went all in for a Republican mayoral candidate In Laconia, a city where Trump won by 13 points, only to have a Democrat win the mayoral race by 10 points.
In Kentucky, the DGA helped flip the governor’s seat, a state Trump won by nearly 30 points. Trump lost New Hampshire by 1 point in 2016 and now Sununu looks to have even more problems on his hands when he shares the ballot with Trump in 2020.
“After going all-in for several New Hampshire Republican candidates, Sununu was dealt several stunning losses Tuesday,” said DGA Communications Director David Turner. “Granite Staters are tired of Chris Sununu blocking progress on paid family leave, the minimum wage, and common-sense gun safety. Sununu’s record dragged down Republicans on Tuesday and it will lead to his loss in 2020 when he has to share a ballot with Trump.”
