Statement from DGA Chair Governor Phil Murphy In Support of the HEROES Act

Today, Democratic Governors Association Chair New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy released the following statement on the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions (HEROES) Act:
“The coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc on state budgets and done untold damage to our economy. I urge Congress to quickly pass the HEROES Act to provide states $500 billion in aid and keep our educators, cops, firefighters, and EMS personnel on the job. I thank Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats for stepping up and understanding that we can’t cut our way out of this crisis. Now we need the help of the other branches of the federal government to continue fighting this unprecedented health and economic emergency.”
