Statement: DGA Chair New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy Vows Democratic Governors Continue to Protect American’s Health Care
Today, Democratic Governors Association Chair New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy released the following statement following the federal appeals court ruling in Texas v. Azar:
“Today’s ruling by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals is another blow in the Trump administration’s unending war on Americans’ access to affordable, quality health care. Access to health care is not a privilege, it is a right – and it is a right that Democratic governors will continue to fight to protect no matter what.
Democratic governors are and will continue to be the strongest line of defense against Trump’s war on health care. Across the country, we have taken wide-sweeping action to ensure that Americans will continue to have access to the care they deserve. Today’s ruling is disappointing but will not change our commitment to protecting what matters most – the health and wellbeing of the families we serve.”
