Stacey Abrams Calls for Probe into Brian Kemp’s Baby Formula Scandal

Abrams Continues to Fight for Georgia Families When Kemp Won’t

Stacey Abrams is leading the call for an investigation into Brian Kemp’s baby formula failures including a Kemp administration policy that mandated the “destruction of thousands of cans of infant formula,” as the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

“While the panic has receded from the headlines, the consequences of this policy continue to impact Georgia parents and children,” Abrams and top elected officials wrote. “Therefore, the wasteful actions of the Kemp administration warrant further illumination.”

This is just the latest example of Stacey Abrams fighting for Georgia families. In addition to demanding answers on the baby formula shortage, Abrams is calling for new tax rebates and for Kemp to suspend Georgia’s gas tax through the end of the year, both of which he continues to refuse to support — even as Georgians struggle with rising costs.

“Between demanding answers on the baby formula shortage and leading the charge for lower costs, Stacey Abrams is fighting for Georgians when Brian Kemp won’t,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Sam Newton. “Kemp once again remains completely out-of-touch on the issues that matter most to Georgians — and should immediately come clean on his baby formula failures and finally support Abrams’ calls for urgent tax relief.”
