Silent Schulz Hides From Spotlight as Maryland MAGA Primary Continues
Three months have ticked by, and Silent Kelly Schulz has been MIA as the Maryland MAGA primary for governor is ramping up, declining to comment on several key issues and leaving voters wondering: is Schulz running for governor?
Since we last checked in with her MIA campaign, she has continued to avoid revealing any significant positions. For Silent Schulz, mum’s the word on pandemic relief, abortion, and even Donald Trump’s dangerous conspiracy theories.
In particular, Marylanders are starting to get more money in their pockets thanks to the American Rescue Plan’s Child Tax Credit – but Schulz has still refused to support the ARP.
If Schulz hoped to skate by the primary by dodging questions, her plans are being thwarted by far-right delegate Dan Cox, a pro-Trump conspiracy theorist who has dominated the news for speaking out against commonsense efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 and busing insurrectionists to Washington on January 6.
DGA Deputy Communications Director Sam Newton said, “Silent Kelly Schulz is using her unelected, taxpayer-funded office to support her political aspirations, yet refuses to support the American Rescue Plan, which puts money in the pockets of Maryland’s working families. She won’t hold public events, do interviews, stand up to Trump’s election conspiracy theories, or pledge to support reproductive rights if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade. So we have one question for Silent Schulz: what are you hiding from?”
