Shot/Chaser: Kari Lake Claims Election Integrity Her ‘Number One Issue’, Can’t Answer Questions About It, Attacks CNN’s Dana Bash for Bringing It Up

SHOT: Kari Lake has made sham election conspiracies her most important issue on the campaign trail. Since day one, she’s made relitigating the 2020 election her “number one issue” saying that “nothing else matters”, like jobs, health care, and public education.

CHASER: Yet, when given a chance to talk about the issue she’s prioritized her entire campaign, Kari Lake struggled to answer questions in an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash. When backed into a corner, Lake lashed out and criticized Bash for bringing up the topic rather than talking about the real issues. Lake ended her trainwreck interview by refusing to commit to accepting the 2022 election results when asked — not once, not twice, but three separate times.

“If Kari Lake wants to make sham conspiracies about elections the top issue of her campaign, she should at least be able to answer questions about it,” said DGA Senior Communications Advisor Christina Amestoy. “Instead, Kari Lake is doubling down on her election denialism and refusing to say she’d accept the results of November’s election. Not only is her inability to answer basic questions hypocritical, it’s dangerous to democracy.”
