Shawn Moody Refuses to Stand Up for Maine Women, Ducks on Kavanaugh Confirmation
Yet again, Maine Republican Shawn Moody is ducking and refusing to stand up for Mainers—this time on Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.
“Silent Shawn” recently punted and refused to answer a Portland Press Herald inquiry about the Supreme Court confirmation process.
In contrast, Attorney General Janet Mills spoke out strongly, saying, “I would not vote to confirm him, and I agree with the American Bar Association that the FBI should investigate the allegations before any vote is taken.”
“Shawn Moody has shown time and time again that Mainers can’t trust him to speak out when the dysfunction in Washington DC puts their rights on the chopping block,” said Democratic Governors Association Press Secretary Melissa Miller. “Maine needs a governor who is willing to stand up for their rights and stand with survivors of sexual violence; they need Janet Mills.”
