ROUND UP: Gov. Whitmer “Does Michigan Proud” With SOTU Response

Latest News

Last night, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered the Democratic response to President Trump’s State of the Union. Whitmer’s speech was praised as “an inclusive, forward-looking message” and in direct contrast to Trump’s “bombastic” address that was filled with “exaggerations and falsehoods.”
Throughout her remarks, Gov. Whitmer focused on what her Democratic governor colleagues are accomplishing in areas like health care, infrastructure, and jobs. What Democratic governors are getting done on the state level is the best example of what “Democrats can do when they’re allowed to govern.”
