Rhode Island Democratic Party Endorses Dan McKee for Governor
This weekend, at the state Democratic Convention, Gov. Dan McKee earned the endorsement of the Rhode Island Democratic Party, after winning 51% of the vote among a multi-candidate field.
Gov. McKee said, “I’m grateful to receive the endorsement of the Rhode Island Democratic Party. At this critical moment when we must protect reproductive rights, pass common sense gun legislation, and continue our strong economic momentum, I’m looking forward to helping elect Democrats up and down the ballot as our nominee.”
Gov. McKee has garnered strong support from Rhode Islanders across the state, as he continues to deliver real results for working families. Since taking office, Gov. McKee has signed legislation making it easier to vote, chartered a path to 100% renewable energy, made major investments in affordable housing and child care, provided tax relief for small businesses, and implemented a $15 minimum wage.
“As he builds the framework for a better Rhode Island, Gov. McKee is also building a strong coalition of support for his positive vision for the state,” said DGA Senior Communications Advisor Christina Amestoy. “Already, Gov. McKee has implemented bold solutions to the biggest challenges facing Rhode Islanders, from supporting workers and fair wages to investing in housing and child care — and he’s made it clear that he’s only just getting started.”
