Reunion Alert: Trump Pays Visit to “Governor of Trump’s America” as her Polling Plummets
Today, Governor Kim Reynolds, the “Governor of Trump’s America,” will greet the President with open arms in Iowa. Reynolds’ approval ratings and re-election prospects have fallen recently as Iowa’s economy takes a hit from the President’s economic policies. But – ever the partisan – Reynolds will stand by Trump.
Reynolds is in the fight of her political life. In just the past few weeks, her race has been downgraded to tossup by Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball, Cook Political Report, and Governing. This all comes as she’s taking major heat for failing to stand up to President Trump’s damaging economic policies.
Last summer, Reynolds praised Trump, calling him “an ally and friend.” And today, she’ll campaign with that “ally and friend” in Dubuque.
“When President Trump steps off Air Force One to a warm welcome from ‘the Governor of Trump’s America,’ Iowans will see Gov. Reynolds’ wrong priorities first hand,” said DGA Press Secretary Melissa Miller. “Yet again, she puts her political allies like Trump and his damaging policies ahead of the people of her state.
