Pete Snyder Touts Endorsement From Congressman Bob Good Who Has Repeatedly Sided With Capitol Insurrectionists
Today, VA GOP candidate Pete Snyder announced he was “honored” to receive the endorsement of Congressman Bob Good – one of the Trumpiest members of the Republican party, who is famous for spreading lies about the election and calling the pandemic that has killed more than 10,000 Virginians “phony.”
Just yesterday, Good voted no to honoring the police officers who protected the U.S. Capitol and everyone inside, including Good, with Congressional Gold Medals. Good also was also one of the lead voices in spreading misinformation about the 2020 election, and voted to overturn the results of the election.
It’s no surprise that Snyder is so “honored” by Bob Good’s stamp of approval. The convention is coming up, and Snyder is trying to prove he is the most extreme person running for governor – a tough task considering frontrunner Amanda Chase refers to herself as “Trump in heels,” sits in a glass box to avoid wearing a mask, and calls the Capitol insurrectionists “patriots.”
Snyder is running up his crazy meter too though – he has been peddling the same baseless lies about voter fraud as Good and Chase, saying he wants “NFL style scouting reports” on local election officials to prevent (nonexistent) voter fraud. Snyder is also refusing to support the popular American Rescue Plan, which is providing critical economic relief for Virginia’s small businesses, echoing his pal Bob and calling pandemic relief “absolutely insane.”
“What’s ‘absolutely insane’ is that Pete Snyder is ‘honored’ to receive COVID-denying, election conspiracy theorist Bob Good’s stamp of approval,” said DGA Senior Communications Advisor Christina Amestoy. “Good just voted against honoring the police officers who put themselves in harm’s way to save Good’s life and many others, as well as protect a pillar of our democracy. With the GOP convention coming up, Snyder will do anything he can to get a leg up on Amanda Chase and win over Trump’s base – even if that means siding with an anti-democracy lunatic like Bob Good. This endorsement might be ‘good’ in a GOP primary, but Bob Good and Pete Snyder are too extreme for Virginia.”
