On One Year Anniversary of Jan. 6th, Geoff Diehl Stands With Insurrectionists

Diehl did not “respond to a request for comment”

Yesterday, on the one-year anniversary of the attack on the U.S. Capitol, Massachusetts GOP Candidate for governor Geoff Diehl once again showed he’s fully willing to embrace extremism and dangerous conspiracy theories by attending an event where he shared the stage with a speaker who attended the violent attack on the Capitol on January 6th.

The Boston Globe added that “Diehl’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.”

In addition to giving a platform to insurrectionists, the event promoted anti-vaccine views that undermine public health and prolong the pandemic.

This is just the latest way Geoff Diehl is deeply out-of-touch with Massachusetts voters. After co-chairing Donald Trump’s campaign, he proudly courted his endorsement, in which the former president called Diehl “a true patriot.”

“On the one-year anniversary of a horrific day in American history, it’s shameful that diehard Trump loyalist Geoff Diehl chose to stand alongside someone who was at the violent attack, instead of denouncing it,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Sam Newton. “January 6th demonstrated that peddling Trump’s dangerous lies has deadly consequences. Diehl must stop dodging questions and should immediately explain why he’s siding with insurrectionists over our democracy.”
