New TV Ad Holds Tudor Dixon Accountable for Dangerous Plan to Ban Abortion Without Exceptions for Rape, Incest, or the Health of the Mother

Latest News

A new tv ad — “Banned” — from Put Michigan First highlights Tudor Dixon explaining in her own words her radical plan to ban abortion in Michigan without exceptions for rape, incest, or the health of the mother. Watch the new ad here.

The ad continues to hold Dixon accountable for saying the case of a 14-year-old victim assaulted by a family member is a “perfect example” for her dangerous reasoning to oppose exceptions. In fact, five days after Dixon’s comments aired, she doubled down, saying she’s “not hiding from it.”

Dixon has also said she opposes exceptions to protect the health of the mother and supports Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban, which would criminalize abortion and throw reproductive health care providers behind bars.

“Tudor Dixon wants to rip away women’s rights by banning abortion in Michigan without exceptions for rape, incest, or the health of the mother,” said Put Michigan First Spokesperson Sam Newton. “Don’t just take our word for it — this ad continues to expose Dixon’s dangerous agenda in her own words. It’s completely out of touch with Michiganders, and she won’t be able to run from it.”

See below for the full transcript of the thirty-second video:

News Anchor: Tudor Dixon — saying in a recent interview a teenage victim of sexual assault is a “perfect example” of why abortion should be banned.

Interviewer: Are you for the exemptions for rape and incest?

Tudor Dixon: I am not.

Dixon: No exceptions.

Podcast Host: No exceptions for rape or incest, or what about health of the mother?

Dixon: No exceptions.

Reporter: Dixon has been a staunch advocate for banning abortion in Michigan.

Reporter: That position — out of step with Michigan.

Narrator: Tudor Dixon — that’s dangerous for Michigan.
