NEW: Three Virginia Health Care Centers Forced to Close Thanks to Trump’s Budget That Sears Cheered On

A new report from WHSV News reveals that three rural health care centers in Virginia were closing as a result of Donald Trump’s disastrous and deeply unpopular budget law that Winsome Sears said “does so many great things” — even though it rips health care away from 350,000 Virginians and costs Virginia hospitals $26 billion.

According to Augusta Medical Group, the closure of health center centers in Weyers Cave, Churchville and Buena Vista is “part of Augusta Health’s ongoing response to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and the resulting realities for healthcare delivery.”

Just last week, Sears lied about the devastating consequences of Trump’s health care cuts, saying that “there are no Virginians who are going to lose their Medicaid coverage in Virginia unless that’s something that they choose” and “we’re not taking anyone off the Medicaid rolls.”

Sears was also recently fact-checked after claiming that a $10 billion surplus could cover the $26 billion that Virginia hospitals will lose because of Trump’s Medicaid cuts — another lie that both Republicans and Democrats have called her out on.

“When a rural health care clinic closes, it’s devastating for local residents — forcing seniors to travel longer distances and hurting the local economy. As Virginians face losing their health care, rising premiums, and health clinics shutting their doors, does Winsome Sears still think that Donald Trump’s deeply unpopular budget law ‘does so many great things?’” said DGA Communications Director Sam Newton.
