New Polling Shows Sherrill’s Momentum, While New Jersey Just Doesn’t Like Ciattarelli

New Polling Shows Sherrill’s Momentum, While New Jersey Just Doesn’t Like Ciattarelli

47% of voters view Ciattarelli unfavorably, compared to only 40% who view him favorably

Ahead of tonight’s final gubernatorial debate, new polling from Public Policy Polling shows Jack Ciattarelli struggling to keep up as Mikie Sherrill’s momentum resonates with more New Jerseyans. Not only do voters prefer Sherrill to Ciattarelli by six points, but they also view Ciattarelli more unfavorably than favorably (47 – 40 percent). Importantly, undecided voters have a largely negative view of Donald Trump – with whom Ciattarelli cannot name a single issue that they disagree on – demonstrating voters will once again reject Ciattarelli’s toxic agenda to raise taxes, sell out hardworking families, and make New Jersey more expensive.

Additionally, while Ciattarelli continues to tout Republicans’ disastrous budget bill that is driving up costs, gutting health care coverage, and causing energy bills to skyrocket, the new polling shows just how deeply unpopular this law is. 46 percent of voters said that the Ciattarelli-backed budget law will make life worse in New Jersey, while only 20 percent said it would make life better.

“This poll demonstrates exactly what we’ve known all along: voters cannot trust Jack Ciattarelli to lower costs and make their lives better,” said DGA spokesperson Olivia Davis. “From his support for the budget law that is jacking up costs and ripping away health care, to his wholehearted embrace of Donald Trump, the data makes clear that voters stand at the ready to reject Jack Ciattarelli for a third and final time this November.”
