New Poll Shows Kansan Zach Lahn’s Carpetbagging Will Be a Huge Issue for Him
New polling from Emerson College reveals that Zach Lahn’s Kansas carpetbagging is going to be a major issue for Iowa voters across party lines.
According to the poll, 76 percent of respondents say it is important that a candidate has lived in Iowa for most of their adult life, while 41 percent say it is very important. Lahn, a career political operative, has made headlines for frequently flying his private plane to his Kansas home.
Lahn spends most of his time in Kansas, where he created a private school in Wichita. Lahn was registered to vote in Kansas in 2018, 2020 and 2022 – and only reregistered to vote in Iowa in 2024 just before the deadline to run for office. Lahn has refused to answer questions about his time spent in Kansas and wouldn’t even commit to living in Iowa full-time if he was governor, saying he’d try to be in state “as much as humanly possible.”
DGA Communications Director Sam Newton said: “After a decade of failures from one-party rule, Kansas carpetbagger and career political operative Zach Lahn would not only be more of the same, but he also won’t even commit to living in Iowa full-time. This poll makes clear that’s a huge problem for Lahn and not going away anytime soon – especially as he refuses to answer basic questions about his time spent in Kansas.”
