New Poll Shows Big Trouble for Kim Reynolds in Iowa
A new poll this weekend from the Des Moines Register shows Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds in big trouble as she heads into the election year. Only 35% of Iowans indicate they would vote for Reynolds, compared with 49% who say it’s time for someone new.
“Kim Reynolds’ misplaced priorities have harmed Iowa’s hard-working families and small businesses, so it’s no wonder her poll numbers are so low,” said DGA Press Secretary Melissa Miller. “During her tenure, the state has seen an ever-worsening budget crisis, a faltering economy, underfunded schools, and an imploding privatized health care system. Iowans have had enough of Kim Reynolds and are ready for a change.”
From the poll:
“Just 35 percent say they would vote for Reynolds if the election were held today, and 49 percent say it’s time for someone new. Sixteen percent aren’t sure.”
“Those who want a new occupant at Terrace Hill include 77 percent of Democrats, 51 percent of independents and 18 percent of Republicans.
Although Reynolds is the state’s first female governor, women are more likely than men to say they prefer someone new in office, 53 percent to 46 percent. And in each congressional district, more Iowans say it’s time for someone new than say they’d vote for Reynolds.”
