New Jersey GOP Gov Candidates Want to Bring DOGE’s Disasters to the Garden State
Jack Ciattarelli: “Any and all departments and potential cuts are on the table.”
While Jack Ciattarelli and talk radio host Bill Spadea, two leading Republican candidates for governor, have been at each other’s throats for weeks as they vie for Trump’s endorsement in one MAGA loyalty test after another, one thing they do agree on is bringing the chaos and recklessness of Elon Musk’s DOGE directly to New Jersey, threatening tens of thousands of jobs and key programs across the state.
As Ciattarelli told the New Jersey Monitor, “any and all departments and potential cuts are on the table,” including a “reduce[d] workforce.” This isn’t the first time Ciattarelli has promised to bring DOGE to New Jersey – he has previously voiced his support for the program in several posts on social media, including promising “NJDOGE on day one!”
Spadea also supports DOGE, telling the Monitor he would “cut government costs and bureaucracy.” He’s called the idea a “top tier priority,” and that he’s the only candidate in the race “capable of implementing a similar Trump/Musk plan” for New Jersey.
“As Donald Trump and Elon Musk slash jobs and eliminate programs that New Jersey families rely on, Republican candidates for governor are promising to bring that same chaos to the Garden State,” said DGA Campaign Communications Advisor Emma O’Brien. “While New Jersey families are looking for a leader with solutions to cut costs and make life more affordable, the Republican field is promising to do the opposite on day one. No one voted for Elon Musk’s attacks on our institutions, and New Jersey voters don’t want his extremism in the governor’s office.”
