New DGA Video Highlights “Slugfest” Debate Between Rick Jackson and Burt Jones
The DGA released a new video today titled “Slugfest” highlighting this week’s Republican gubernatorial primary in Georgia, where Rick Jackson and Burt Jones tore into each other with vicious personal attacks and devastating accusations of corruption.
The video zooms in on the candidates exchanging explosive accusations of abuse of taxpayer money to boost their personal fortunes, their praise for Donald Trump’s cost-raising agenda, and even Jackson’s awkward stumbles. The debate was the first and only face-to-face meeting between Jackson, Jones, and the rest of the Republican field in a race that has been called the most contentious primary in modern Georgia political history.
“Monday’s debate was a disaster for Republicans. No matter who wins, the GOP is going to be stuck with a nominee with a record of self-enrichment in office who is completely tied to Donald Trump’s deeply unpopular administration. It’s no wonder Republicans only wanted one debate!” said DGA spokesperson Kevin Donohoe.
