New Ad Calls Out Reichert’s Votes to Defund Planned Parenthood

Evergreen Values, a group backed by the Democratic Governors Association, is releasing a new ad in the 2024 Washington governor’s race, titled “Every Year,” that highlights former congressman Dave Reichert’s yearslong record of endangering Washington women by voting to ban abortion nationwide and repeatedly voting to defund Planned Parenthood.
In the ad, DeeAnna D., shares her story of turning to Planned Parenthood for crucial health care and warns how Reichert’s numerous votes to defund the organization would have threatened Washington women’s ability to get pregnancy care, birth control, and cancer screenings.
Throughout his campaign for governor, Reichert has tried to mislead Washington voters about his well-documented and extreme record and failed — including getting caught at a closed-door town hall earlier this year pledging to work toward “unraveling” protections for abortion access, being called out for running a “cynical” ad rewriting his record of opposing reproductive freedom, and lying on the debate stage about the threat he poses to women’s most fundamental rights.
“Dave Reichert’s record, including his many votes to defund Planned Parenthood, is all Washington women need to see to know that he will do nothing to protect their health or rights,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Izzi Levy. “Washington voters know the truth: Dave Reichert is too extreme to be governor.”
