Mark Ronchetti Is Bankrolled by Extremist Abortion Ban Group
Recent filings show that Mark Ronchetti accepted $5,000 from the Susan B. Anthony List, a prominent anti-abortion group that advocates for a nationwide ban on abortions without exceptions for rape, incest, or life of the mother. They have promoted the dangerous lie that abortion is “never medically necessary” and lobbied to ban access to birth control like Plan B and IUDs.
Ronchetti has described himself as “strongly pro-life” and said he opposes the right to choose at all stages. Now, during the general election, he is trying to hide his extreme position and pull a fast one on New Mexico voters.
Meanwhile, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has fought for the right to choose and protected access to reproductive healthcare for all New Mexicans. She has maintained her stance consistently throughout her tenure as governor and this election.
“The Susan B. Anthony List is a dangerous extremist organization that sees Mark Ronchetti as a vital player in advancing their agenda,” said DGA Senior Communications Advisor Christina Amestoy. “New Mexicans deserve a transparent governor who delivers on their promises and will protect women’s reproductive freedom, not someone like Ronchetti who wants to rip these rights away.”
