Mark Robinson Still Won’t Say “he believes the outcome was legitimate” in the 2020 Election

A new report this week, highlighted the fact that North Carolina Lt. Governor Mark Robinson is still refusing to say that “he believes the outcome was legitimate” in the 2020 election, noting that Robinson stated in a speech at a conservative conference “I don’t care what you tell me, 83 thousand people did not vote for Joe Biden. I don’t think 83 million people know who Joe Biden is…”

This comes after Robinson spoke at yet another out-of-state rally that was headlined by election deniers, and he is scheduled to speak at a similar rally in August whose guestlist features numerous speakers who have pushed baseless conspiracy theories.

When asked explicitly if Robinson believed that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump, instead of answering, a Robinson spokesperson shared two unrelated videos where Robinson failed to even mention Trump or the 2020 election per se and his campaign “didn’t respond to a follow-up question about Robinson’s view on Trump.”

“Lt. Governor Mark Robinson has continually perpetuated baseless conspiracy theories and surrounded himself with unhinged election deniers at rallies outside of North Carolina,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Izzi Levy. “This is just the latest reminder that Robinson is an out-of-touch extremist who puts his own dangerous and divisive positions ahead of fixing problems for North Carolina.”
