Today the Democratic Governors Association issued a statement in response to reporting in The Root that Lt. Governor Mark Robinson has “​​insulted Beyoncé’s singing abilities, called her a ‘skank,’ and said she was teaching ‘young women how to be hyper-sexual whores.’”

“We’re Speechless and have to Ring The Alarm over new reporting that Mark Robinson felt he had the Green Light to make offensive comments about an icon like Beyoncé,” said DGA Director of External Affairs Ofirah Yheskel. “This isn’t the first time Mark Robinson has felt COZY enough to make incendiary comments that make North Carolina voters say Hold Up and take a closer look at his dangerous agenda as they Countdown the days till they get in Formation to elect a governor who will actually put them first and move their state Forward: Attorney General Josh Stein.”
