Malloy, Inslee Statement on Trump Health Care Executive Order
DGA Chair Gov. Dan Malloy (D-CT) and DGA Vice Chair Gov. Jay Inslee (D-WA) released the following joint statement on President Trump’s health care executive order:
“President Trump’s executive order will sabotage health insurance markets in our states and harm our citizens’ ability to get affordable coverage,” said Governors Malloy and Inslee. “Democratic and Republican governors alike have called on the President to support bipartisan Congressional efforts to stabilize insurance markets. This reckless executive order does the opposite: It creates chaos, raises premiums and allows discrimination against people with pre-existing conditions.
“It’s time for President Trump to stop playing political games and start working with governors to strengthen the health care systems in our states. This is not a game; the lives and health of millions of Americans are at stake.”
