Kelly Schulz, Who Has Extreme Anti-Choice Record, Stays Silent As Roe v. Wade Faces Unprecedented Threats

After reports are revealing a draft U.S. Supreme Court ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade, Kelly Schulz must answer questions about how she is running to bring her extreme anti-choice agenda to the governor’s office..

As a state legislator, Schulz co-sponsored legislation creating a constitutional amendment that would have effectively banned abortion with no exceptions. She’s also supported defunding reproductive health care providers.

In a 2014 op-ed, Schulz wrote, “My votes have been 100% solid” on opposing abortion. But since entering the GOP primary, Silent Schulz has refused to clarify if she opposes overturning Roe v. Wade. She has also refused to rule out overturning the state law protecting reproductive rights if Roe v. Wade is overturned.

“Kelly Schulz has a dangerous anti-choice record that threatens Maryland women facing an unprecedented attack on their right to access reproductive health care,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Sam Newton. “Schulz must publicly stand against overturning Roe and any attempts to remove Maryland’s protections for reproductive rights.”
