Kelly Schulz Echoes Brett Kavanaugh as She Tries to Pivot from Her Extreme Record on Restricting Reproductive Rights

Latest News

Now that the Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, Kelly Schulz is desperate to hide her radical record of trying to dismantle reproductive rights in Maryland, even repeating the talking points of Brett Kavanaugh.

In particular, Schulz is now trying to claim that reproductive rights are settled law, which is the same pivot conservative Supreme Court justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch said about Roe during their confirmations – only to overturn it when given the chance.

As a state legislator, Schulz co-sponsored legislation creating a constitutional amendment that would have effectively banned abortion with no exceptions. She’s also supported defunding reproductive health care providers. Schulz also wrote in a 2014 op-ed, “my votes have been 100% solid” on opposing abortion.

Similarly, Trump-endorsed Dan Cox also has dangerous anti-choice views that are deeply out-of-touch with Maryland families.

“If Kelly Schulz’s plan to cover up her radical record of trying to dismantle reproductive rights with zero exceptions is to repeat talking points from Brett Kavanaugh, Marylanders won’t fall for it,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Sam Newton. “In a post-Roe America, Marylanders cannot trust Kelly Schulz to protect their right to an abortion and other life-saving reproductive care. The only way to ensure reproductive rights are protected in Maryland is to elect a pro-choice Democratic governor this November.”
