Kelly Ayotte Still Hasn’t Condemned Endorser Who Threatened “Shooting Spree” Against Police Officers
On Friday, a new report from InDepthNH revealed that state representative and early Kelly Ayotte endorser State Rep. Jon Stone “threatened to kill fellow police officers in a shooting spree, and murder his chief after raping the chief’s wife and children, all while he was already under scrutiny for his inappropriate relationship with a teen girl.”
In the days following this shocking report, candidate for governor and former U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte has refused to renounce Stone’s endorsement or condemn his appalling and inappropriate behavior. Ayotte isn’t shying away from her connections with Stone: his endorsement is still live on Ayotte’s website, his letter announcing his endorsement of Ayotte is still up on Valley News, and Ayotte’s post about the campaign event she attended with Stone in Claremont is still posted to her social media.
Here’s what Kelly Ayotte was up to this weekend:
- Attended the Made in NH “Try It & Buy It” Expo
- Attended a Cocktail Reception
- Posed for pictures at a Run & Walk in Nashua
- Posted about John Stark Day
- Refused to respond to questions about her alliance with Rep. Jon Stone
“Granite Staters deserve to know why Kelly Ayotte is associating with a dangerous child predator who threatened horrific violence against New Hampshire’s law enforcement officers and their families,” said DGA States Press Secretary Emma O’Brien. “Ayotte has had plenty of opportunities all weekend long to condemn Rep. Jon Stone’s disgusting actions and threats, and instead she’s been playing politics and staying silent — proving yet again that Granite Staters cannot trust her to do what’s right.”
