Judgement for Jim Justice: West Virginia Governor’s GOP Primary Opponent Releases New Attack Ad
West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice’s primary opponent Woody Thrasher released another anti-Justice attack ad – telling West Virginians to “judge Jim Justice by his deeds.” According to the ad, some of Justice’s most notable deeds during his time in office include being accused of racketeering and fraud, cutting off health insurance for coal miners, and failing to fix the state’s roads.
Infrastructure has long been a sore spot for Justice – he promised West Virginians that he’d repair the state’s crumbling roads, only to wind up with complaints from residents year after year. Under Justice’s leadership, West Virginia still has the worst infrastructure in the country and 20 percent of the state’s bridges have been deemed structurally deficient.
Instead, Justice has used his office to enrich himself and his family’s companies. He’s been such a disappointing governor – his own party gave him a vote of no confidence and asked him to resign.
“Jim Justice’s top priority is furthering his own self-interest,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Christina Amestoy. “While West Virginia’s roads crumble and the state faces an unprecedented crisis, Jim Justice remains focused on his family’s billion-dollar empire. Justice’s primary challenger doesn’t have to work very hard to go after the governor – he’s just simply telling voters to judge Justice on his selfish actions.”
