John and James Call Out John James’ Corruption in Latest Ad from DGA-Backed Group Making Michigan’s Future

John and James Call Out John James’ Corruption in Latest Ad from DGA-Backed Group Making Michigan’s Future

Making Michigan’s Future, a group backed by the Democratic Governors Association, released a new ad, “John and James”, featuring two Michiganders, one named John and one named James, calling out Congressman John James for his corruption and giving their names a bad reputation.

The ad highlights Congressman James’ shady stock trades in Congress, worth up to millions of dollars, and his vote to give Big Pharma a huge tax cut while refusing to cap prescription drug costs. Since taking office, James’ net worth has risen by as much as 1,000%.

This is the latest ad airing on TV as part of a seven-figure statewide buy that also includes streaming and digital platforms.

“Whether your name is John, James, or anything else, Michiganders are tired of John James giving them a bad name,” said Making Michigan’s Future spokesperson Sam Newton. “In Congress, James has consistently prioritized padding his own pockets while voting to hurt working Michiganders. He’s only out for himself.”

You can watch the ad here and read the transcript below:

“John and James”

I’m John. And I’m James.

And we’re getting pretty damn tired of Congressman John James giving us a bad name.

Hell yeah, we are.

Like when John James bought and sold stock in companies he oversees in Congress.

Hundreds of trades. Worth millions.

Millions.

He voted to give a giant tax break to Big Pharma, but opposes capping the prices of prescription drugs?

Come on, John.

He’s in the pocket of Big Pharma.

He is running our name through the mud.

John James is helping himself and hurting the rest of us.
