Jack Ciattarelli Is Coming For New Jersey’s Public Schools
Yesterday, during an appearance on Fox & Friends, two-time failed Republican candidate for governor Jack Ciattarelli revealed his support for Donald Trump’s and Elon Musk’s dismantling of the Department of Education, as well as his support for bringing a voucher scheme to the Garden State.
Reacting to a court case that pushes back against the Trump administration’s reckless and damaging cuts to the Department of Education that helps provide key resources to students and parents, Ciattarelli called these efforts “disgusting and infuriating.” Most vulnerable to these kinds of cuts Ciattarelli supports include students with disabilities and their families, students from low-income households, and students in rural school districts.
This is only the latest in Ciattarelli’s desperate attempt to win over Donald Trump in what has become a nasty, competitive, and expensive Republican primary. Earlier this week, Ciattarelli also embraced Trump’s and Musk’s plan to dismantle Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare, calling it the “grand experiment,” and has previously promised to bring the chaos and dysfunction of Musk’s DOGE program in D.C. to New Jersey, claiming “any and all departments and potential cuts are on the table,” even a “reduce[d] workforce.”
“It’s clear there are no lengths Jack Ciattarelli won’t go to win over Donald Trump in this increasingly MAGA Republican primary, even if that means selling out New Jersey students, teachers, and public schools,” said DGA Campaign Communications Advisor Emma O’Brien. “While New Jersey families want a governor who will focus on solving some of their toughest challenges, Jack Ciattarelli and the entire Republican primary field have only proven they will make things worse.”
