Jack Ciattarelli Campaigns with Head of Extreme Anti-Abortion Group
The threat Jack Ciattarelli poses to abortion access in New Jersey was on full display earlier this week, as he campaigned with the head of the New Jersey Family Policy Center, an extreme, far right anti-abortion group.
Between his support for defunding Planned Parenthood, support for an abortion ban pushed by “two of [New Jersey’s] most conservative Republican state senators,” and bragging about his plans to stack the state Supreme Court with conservative judges like those who overturned Roe, Ciattarelli’s full-throated embrace of a group that “argued that [he would] be the strongest choice to support (…) anti-abortion policy in the state” is an alarming reminder of the threat he poses to reproductive freedom.
“New Jersey’s most outspoken enemies of reproductive freedom see a friend in Jack Ciattarelli—and he’s happy to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them as he runs for governor,” said DGA spokesperson Izzi Levy. “Abortion rights are absolutely on the line in New Jersey in this year’s election, and based on the company he keeps, it’s crystal-clear that Ciattarelli will gladly take aim at these fundamental freedoms if he becomes governor.”
