Chip in today to elect Dem govs >>
Democratic governors are leading in the fight against Donald Trump. With our two historic victories in Virginia and New Jersey, grassroots momentum is on our side! But next year, nearly 80% of the country is voting for a governor – and with Republicans already investing to beat Dem govs, early support has never been so critical. Will you donate to elect more Democratic governors who will defend our rights and freedoms and stand up to Trump?
It’s Day 1 On The Trail, And Pawlenty Has Already Made A Mess Of Things
It took less than 24 hours since Tim Pawlenty officially announced his candidacy for governor, and he’s already flip-flopped on Donald Trump and admitted he has a hard row to hoe to getting elected.
In 2016, Pawlenty said Trump was “unsound, uninformed, unhinged and unfit to be President of the United States, and I am withdrawing my support of him.”
Yet, now that he has moved back to Minnesota to run for governor after making millions doing Wall Street’s bidding, he is telling Minnesotans he voted for Donald Trump despite deeming him “unhinged” and “unfit.”
Later on, he admitted “it’s not going to be the easiest year for Republicans.”
“It’s unclear if Tim Pawlenty is running for governor as some sort of extravagant piece of performance art, but it’s fair to say Day 1 on the campaign trail was not good,” said Deputy Communications Director David Turner. “He’s already admitted he supports Donald Trump’s policies, and voted for the man despite deeming him ‘unfit’ and ‘unhinged.’ If that’s the kind of judgment he will bring to the governor’s office, why would Minnesotans want him anywhere near running the state? Two failed terms is enough.”
