Inslee Statement on New Pennsylvania Congressional Map

Today, DGA Chair and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee released the following statement on Pennsylvania’s newly drawn congressional map: 
“Today’s new maps in Pennsylvania show that Democratic governors are the single best path to unrigging the map across America. Governor Tom Wolf led the way to fairer congressional maps and rejected Republican legislators’ attempts to gerrymander Pennsylvania again. Thanks to Governor Wolf’s leadership, Pennsylvania’s congressional maps will be more representative and our nation’s democracy will be stronger. This is a victory for Pennsylvanians and for American democracy.
“Today’s announcement shows that Democratic governors with veto pens can make tremendous progress for fairer maps. In 2018, voters in dozens of states will have the opportunity to elect Democratic governors to hold the veto pen in the 2021 redistricting process and ensure fair maps and better congressional representation for generations to come.”
