Inslee: Republican Governors Should Rescind Their Support for Kavanaugh
DGA Chair: ‘I don’t care whether you’re Republican or Democrat, this is a very serious allegation’
Today, while campaigning with Molly Kelly in Manchester, N.H., Governor Jay Inslee called on New Hampshire governor Chris Sununu to immediately withdraw his endorsement of Brett Kavanaugh.
In the wake of disturbing allegations of sexual assault committed by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Inslee called upon Sununu and the 29 other Republican governors who endorsed Kavanaugh to rescind their support..
Watch Governor Inslee’s interview with WMUR-TV below.
Inslee: “Look any governor, I don’t care whether you’re Republican or Democrat, this is a very serious allegation and a lifetime appointment. There is only one responsible way to handle this, and that’s to get to the bottom of this allegation. Have hearings, find out what’s going on.
And this is another instance where Governor Sununu just said, ‘Hey, whatever Donald Trump says goes.’ He signed on to this letter before the vetting process and now we have this new information. The only responsible thing for him to do rescind this endorsement until we get to the bottom of this issue. And we’ve called for all the Republican Governors to do that.”
