In Wake of Yet Another Deadly School Shooting, Fung and Morgan Silent on Gun Violence Solutions
As the nation reels from the latest mass shooting at a school, Rhode Island gubernatorial candidates Allan Fung and Patricia Morgan have been notably silent on solutions to keep the people of Rhode Island safe from gun violence. By contrast, Governor Gina Raimondo has been a leader on this issue, speaking out forcefully and signing a law to keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers.
Fung and Morgan have failed to put forward any solutions that would actually help end the scourge of gun violence. In fact, Morgan even voted last year against the bill Raimondo signed to bar those convicted of domestic violence from owning guns. Fung, as per usual for him, did not speak out on that bill.
“While Governor Raimondo has been a leader on protecting Rhode Islanders from gun violence, Fung and Morgan have refused to put forward any solutions on gun violence prevention,” said DGA Communications Director Jared Leopold. “Rhode Island deserves solutions, and it deserves better than silence from Fung and Morgan.”
