ICYMI: Reynolds Fired Medicaid Adviser Who Spoke Up for Iowans With Disabilities
In case you missed it, the Des Moines Register reported yesterday that Kim Reynolds fired the co-chairman of Iowa’s Medical Assistance Advisory Council for daring to challenge how her botched privatized Medicaid scheme has treated Iowans with disabilities. This adviser had previously strongly backed Medicaid privatization, but asked “hard questions” when his own son and other Iowans experienced cuts to the services they need.
David Hudson told the Des Moines Register, “I felt that I was asking the questions the governor should have been asking… I guess I pushed back too hard or something.”
